I wrote this song back in November after what was probably the most gut-wrenching break up I've ever had to go through. I rented a house in the mountains, brought some recording equipment with me, and got lost in the woods while I tried to process what the fuck just happened to me. Maybe it's not the best way of dealing with things but it worked for me. Idk. I enjoy being alone while I figure out my emotions.
The whole writing and recording process with Comet happened extremely fast and the vocals were done in one take with my mouth directly against the mic. I was trying to sing as quietly as possible even though I didn't necessarily need to. I think I was singing so quietly because I was quite literally exhausted with life. I've learned though that even when love is gone you will be okay. You grow, you evolve, you reflect on the past and try your absolute best to do better every day that goes by. It's important to listen to your body, mind, and spirit and heal from the world. You go at your own pace with life and no one else's. And equally as much as you heal on your own, surrounding yourself with good friends and family helps more than you know.
